Nick Delgado, Ph.D: “Grow Strong, Live Smart, Stay Young.”
At the age of 23, Nick Delgado suffered a transient ischemic attack, aka, TIA or mini-stroke. This experience altered the course of his life and led him on a path to not only healing himself, but others. Subsequently, Nick devoted himself to becoming a lifestyle coach and fitness role model who led, and continues to lead, by example. His multi-disciplinary protocol: understanding the importance of exercise, proper rest, and mental acuity, and the health benefits of plant based proteins and supplements, is changing and saving lives. In fact, many clients, while under a doctor’s supervision, have been able to eliminate pharmacological and surgical intervention completely.
The science of saving lives is something Nick has studied from a very young age. As a child, Nick sometimes had trouble focusing in a traditional classroom setting. As a teenager, swollen, painful pimples and boils covered his face. To make matters worse, he struggled with obesity and high blood pressure, though he’d been dancing for over a year and was cast to appear on American Bandstand. The pressures of appearing on national TV mounted. Sadly, over-the-counter remedies did little to help his skin, and the traditional blood pressure meds left him feeling lethargic. Rather than self-medicate with junk food or, conversely, diet pills, i.e., forced to choose between depression and despair or agitation and anxiety, Nick read Nathan Pritikin’s LIVE LONGER NOW, had an epiphany, and made a life-changing decision. He decided to take on his first client: himself. Within 5 months, he’d reduced his body fat by 55 pounds and lowered his blood pressure from 200/90 to 110/70. For the first time in years, Nick was healthy both inside and out. He tossed the pills and never looked back.
After graduating high school, Nick studied to become a physical therapist, following doctors and therapists on their hospital rounds. The large number of patients suffering from crippling joint disease, obesity, stroke, degenerative heart disease, diabetes, and cancer, stunned him. What he saw informed his decision to change his major to health science with an emphasis on lifestyle medicine. As this exciting new field in medicine expanded, Nathan Pritikin mentored Nick Delgado Ph.D, and they, in turn, mentored a third generation of lifestyle medicine doctors: Dean Ornish, M.D.; Michael Greger, M.D.; and John. A. McDougall, M.D.
Nick Delgado graduated from the University of Southern California, with studies at Rancho Los Amigo Hospital, USC, Loma Linda University, California State Long Beach and Los Angeles as well as continued research with interventional endocrinology, hematology, and physiology. He served as Director of the Pritikin Better Health Program of the Nathan Pritikin Longevity Center. Ongoing studies of participants in the Pritikin Plan were monitored by Dr. Manzoor Massey of the Loma Linda School of Public Health. This plan motivated and facilitated the careers of current Lifestyle Medicine leaders, including Michael Greger, M.D., Dean Ornish, M.D., and Michael Klaper, M.D.
Nick Delgado teamed with health experts and searched for consistent correlations between aging and symptoms. He discovered new answers to age-old problems. During this period, he collaborated with many highly acclaimed physicians, including Denis Burkitt, M.D.; Ernest Wynder, M.D.; Arnold Fox, M.D.; Thierry Hertoghe, M.D.; Ron Klatz, M.D.; Ron Rothenberg, M.D.; and Joseph Maroon, M.D.
Nick Delgado wrote his doctoral thesis on a comprehensive study of (condition) in 693 people, which he conducted as part of a wellness program included in motivational speaker Tony Robbin’s Mastery University seminars. Nick has, therefore, presented the concepts of the “Delgado Protocol” to audiences worldwide. Over the past 30 years, he has educated over 100,000 people on topics such as open-eyed relaxation of the unconscious mind; aging; wellness; and sexual health. His therapies consist of using cellular hematology; oxidative stress analysis; carotid artery scans; blood lipid testing; and biochemical hormones. Nick has been a keynote speaker in the United States; Japan; Malaysia; Toronto; and Canada, and was awarded “Best Speaker” at the International Anti-Aging Congress in South Africa.
Nick Delgado is a major contributing author to Anti-Aging Clinical Protocols published by A4M. He is a contributor to scientifically reviewed abstracts and articles. His research has included the study of empowering the immune system, how to have healthier skin and joints, with research and emphasis on hormones, herbs, and lifestyle therapies. His work confirms the regeneration of cartilage, ligament and various joint injuries with advanced protocols. Nick Delgado explains how intense exercise, done properly, under cool conditions with hydration and supplementation can improve joint functions, rather than cause wear and tear. Nick is the author of “Annihilate Acne Now Naturally” and is working on his soon-to-be-released book on Estrogen Dominance: a modern-day epidemic.
Nick Delgado is the holder of two World Strength Endurance records, lifting 50,640 lbs. in one hour. You can see him performing this amazing feat of strength at youtube.com. He’s also one of three members of Team USA, which placed first in the 2007 World Endurance Lifting Championship in London. Nick has completed 1038 curls with a 50 lbs. curl bar in one hour. Now 62 years young, Nick is currently training to break the World Record for aging (114 years old, for men).

Nick Delgado studied the science of motivation and its effect on human behavior, including psychological studies in Neuro-Linguistic Programming and guided imagery. He is also a certified Time Line Therapist and Certified Hypnotherapist (CHT). Dr. Tad James, the founder of Time Line Therapy training, taught Nick the NLP techniques and advanced goal setting strategies.
